Kathryn Lane M.S., LCMHC

About me

A woman with long dark hair, wearing glasses and a colorful floral blouse, smiling and resting her chin on her hand with a smartwatch on her wrist.

I am Kathryn Lane. I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor & owner of Lane to Change Counseling PLLC.

I completed my undergraduate degree in Exercise Science at the University of Maine, Orono. After graduation I became a personal trainer and a direct support professional. Through these experiences, I quickly realized I found fulfillment in working with folks to psychologically overcome obstacles and empowering people while they work towards their goals. I then attended graduate school at UNC Chapel Hill, where I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling. After graduate school I worked for Vocational Rehabilitation where I assisted folks who were underemployed or unemployed find employment. I also worked for a private practice where I provided psychotherapy to children and adults. Most recently, I worked at a community mental health agency where I provided psychotherapy for children, adolescents, and adults.

When I am not working I am listening to an audiobook, reading, learning a new recipe, exercising, or snuggling with my two cats and dog.
